Program Health Insurance – Minority Outreach, Education, and Enrollment Program:

Health Insurance – Minority Outreach, Education, and Enrollment Program

  • Description:

“For people with HIV who are uninsured or underinsured - New York’s HIV Uninsured Care Programs can help pay for medications, medical care, or health insurance.”

Services can typically be delivered within 1-48 hours of intake. The money is paid directly to the pharmacy or insurance company. This program is funded by the Aids Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). The ACR Health representative is the liaison between the client and ADAP, helping them fill out a brief application and secure the best insurance coverage they can get. ADAP is not insurance coverage. ADAP covers the insurance premiums so that there are no copays or reduced copays that would be at the responsibility of the client. Medication is covered under the insurance plan. Clients must ensure that their pharmacy accepts ADAP as payment. Other coverage, such as dental, may be included in the insurance package.
