First Ward Action Council (FWAC) provides assistance to Binghamton first and second ward residents with issues affecting neighborhoods, such as neighborhood re-development and improvement. Maintains information on housing and provides referrals. Provides assistance to neighborhood watch groups and other community organizations. Offers internships in conjunction with Binghamton University.
The League of Women Voters provides assistance related to voter registration, candidate debates and distribution of non partisan election information
Supporting and facilitating employee retention is a program offered by the Resource Center in conjunction with the United Way's Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative. SAFER is designed to offer support to local businesses who may not otherwise have access to resources or knowledge of issues associated with the effective management of employees. SAFER targets employees who are considered vulnerable due to generational poverty and complex work-related issues. SAFER provides a confidential on-site resource for your employees to utilize. If you are interested in utilizing the services of the SAFER program, our SAFER Team will work directly with your team to identify employees who may benefit from this unique program. The Resource Center SAFER program provides the staff and you provide the employees. The business and the employees of the business both benefit from the SAFER program.
Case management services and rental subsidies for permanent housing for qualified individuals with disabilities in Orange County, funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD), NYS Office of Mental Health and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Services include, but are not limited to, independent living skills training; wellness coaching, peer mentoring, assistance with employment, #and connections with social and community resources.

UTA’s Homeless Prevention Program is directed at helping low income tenants to remain in their apartments. Through a combination of intensive counseling, landlord/tenant mediation, court advocacy and in some situations the use of emergency financial assistance, becoming homeless is greatly reduced.
A growing number of households pay over 45% of their income for housing and many of the severely rent burdened are the working poor, some of whom transitioned from public assistance into jobs that are often part-time or short term, and which seldom have benefits. A personal or economic crisis can often bring the families to the brink of homelessness.
STIC provides Education Advocacy services to families of children with disabilities to ensure that they receive an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment, as required by law. STIC provides education advocacy assistance to parents through our Parent Mentor Project. In this program, a Parent Mentor Advocate, who is the parent of a child with a developmental disability provides mentoring and support to other parents. The Parent Mentor Advocate will use their experience to assist other parents to navigate the complex special education system. The ultimate goal is to empower and educate parents so that they can become their child’s best advocate
Sponsored by Cazenovia Public Library, the Story Room Family Literacy Program operates a collaborative learning-focused family center at CazCares Food Pantry that provides early literacy, adult literacy and parenting programs. The Story Room gives children the unique opportunity to gain preschool learning and nurturing while their parents access other on-site services.

Abi-county (Nassau and Suffolk) not-for-profit organization providing education, advocacy, and social support services to Long Island's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) youth and young adults, and all youth, young adults, and their families for whom sexuality, sexual identity, gender identity, and HIV/AIDS are an issue. Our goals are to empower GLBT youth, advocate for their diverse interests, and to educate society about them.
