  • NYSMAP

    NYSMAP is a program funded by the State of New York that provides 0% interest mortgage loans. Eligible loans uses will include, but are not limited to, paying off arrears including mortgage payments or unpaid interests and fees, paying down a second or third mortgage, satisfying property tax liens or other liens that might lead to loss of home ownership, and supplying borrowers with a "matching" fund to achieve principal reduction or other beneficial first lien modification terms. Loans shall not exceed $40,000. The purpose of this program is to promote home ownership retention at the time the loan is made. This loan is a good fit if you are facing foreclosure due to the inability to pay your mortgage or are in arrears with property taxes.

    Basic Needs Services provide assistance that helps clients avert homelessness, utility shut-off, hunger and medicine shortage.

    Support Services advise clients on how to access supports and benefits that improve short-term economic stability.

    Development Services help people prevent future financial crises and position themselves for long-term stability by setting goals, accessing opportunities, and gaining knowledge. Turning Point counselors assist people in developing plans to stop getting by and start getting ahead. It may also include referrals to outside programs, such as participating in the Getting Ahead process, job training or other employment supports.

    Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) offers Medicare insurance counseling to all Medicare beneficiaries who require assistance with their Medicare insurance. We handle enrollments, plan changes, drug plans, billing issues, etc. or can just sit down with you to explain the coverage you have. We also offer monthly "Medicare 101" classes for people who are recently or almost Medicare eligible or who just want additional information about Medicare insurance.

    Pregnant women can apply for Medicaid through a MOMS or PCAP provider for presumptive Medicaid coverage which will begin paying for the pregnant woman’s medical bills as soon as she applies if she is within certain income guidelines.

    A registered nurse will visit you in your home to assist you with getting insurance and other help for your pregnancy.
