Domestic Violence Program

  • Description:

    Services for Victims of Domestic Violence

    The following services are available to residents of Ontario County through the domestic violence program:

    Hotline 24-hour, 7-day a week hotline with trained staff and volunteers for support, crisis counseling, a sympathetic ear and to assist in emergencies.

    The number is 1-800-695-0390. All services are confidential (with the

    exception of revelations of child abuse, homicide or suicide).

    Placement in safe shelter is available to those who are not safe in their own homes.

    Counseling is available for parenting, goal setting, budgeting, and empathetic listening. Domestic violence educational information is available.

    Court advocacy throughout the entire family court and/or criminal court process is available. Provision of transportation is an option. Assistance with Family Court petitions is available

    Support groups are held weekly for clients.

    Case management, involving every aspect of the domestic violence situation is available. This starts at safety planning of the initial crisis and continues through aftercare.

    The Domestic Violence Program is able to do trainings, presentations, and workshops to schools, community groups, agencies and hospitals.

    The possibility of college or trade school scholarships is available.
