Program Volunteer Driver Program:

Volunteer Driver Program

  • Description:

Connecting people to transportation services for medically related visits and other necessities. Volunteer drivers provide non-emergency medical and/or food related transportation assistance to Steuben County residents who have no other means of transportation.

Please call at least two work days prior to the appointment to ensure proper arrangements can be made (and a week’s notice is best). Through phone triage, callers are assessed for eligibility and linked to information, referral, or human service programs to address their needs.

The service is free, however riders receive a suggested donation notice the month following the ride. All donations are confidential and are used directly to continue and expand the service. Absolutely no one will be denied a ride due to an inability to contribute.

Limit to 2 rides/month for under age 60+ no Medicaid.
