Raφces Astoria Senior Center offers the following services:á Cultural, Recreational and Educational Activities, Celebrations, Trips and Outings, Case Assistance Services, Benefits and Entitlement Counseling, Information on other RAICES sponsored programs, and referrals. Lunch is served daily. Spanish is spoken here. This site also offers transportation services

Congregate meals, activities and recreation, information and referrals, health screenings for residents 60 years old and older.
The Fort Greene Remsen Neighborhood Senior Center has a large population of Caribbean Americans, and Remsen also has a large Indian, Asian and Caucasian community.
Fitness classes are offered such as Aerobics, Tai Chi, Line Dancing, Afro-Caribbean dance, Walking Club.

Who May Ride: People living with HIV/AIDS who are not eligible for Medicaid transportation. In areas that have buses, a doctor note explaining the medical reason you can't use the bus is required to be eligible for a taxi.

Description: The program provides taxi rides, bus passes, and bus or train tickets to medical and other services that help you maintain your health. Service hours: 9am-5pm

Daughter for Hire provides non-medical in-home services that assist the elderly, give their families peace of mind, and make it possible for seniors to age in place; enjoying their golden years. A few a the VAST and UNIQUE services that Daughter for Hire provides include:

• Light Housekeeping

• Meal Preparation/planning

• Computer/electronic assistance

• Accompaniment and companionship to various places including physical therapy, cemetery visits, church and more

• Running errands such as prescriptions, gift shopping and wrapping and post office visits, plus more

• Outdoor services such as lawn mowing, snow blowing, repairs and more

• Financial services with insured and bonded employees which includes bill paying, banking, and assistance with insurance claims and billing issues

Good Companions Senior Center is a multi-lingual and multi-cultural center that has been serving the needs of the Lower East SideÆs senior community for over 60 years by offering a variety of activities and social services.á The staff speaks English, Chinese and Spanish.
The Center provides nutritional information to enhance the health of seniors, and offers affordable hot lunches Sunday through Friday and dinners Monday through Friday.á Seniors are encouraged to participate in recreational activities, and to take advantage of the two fitness rooms, complete with machine and free weights. Bilingual case management services are also available. This site also offers transportation services

Must be a Veteran enrolled in a VA Health VA Health Care System. Do not have to be disabled. Must have an appointment at Bath VA or connect with Veteran's Transportation System (VTS) for out of region medical appointments. No oxygen or wheelchair accommodations. Runs out of Elmira to surrounding VA clinics.

Description: Membership organization for people 62+ or who have a disability. Volunteers and paid workers transport you in your own car for purposes including appointments, shopping, and social trips. Must own your own car. Annual fee is based on income and ranges from $156 to $350.
